As the bushfires continue to burn, The Australian Red Cross is working around the clock to provide vital aid to the thousands of people across the continent who have been affected.

Their nationwide team has been working tirelessly since September to help those who have been forced to evacuate their homes, reunite families with missing loved ones, provide psychological first-aid for those affected by the devastating bushfires, and much more.

We have tens of thousands of Australian customers, as well as a tight-knit team operating from Newcastle, New South Wales. The bushfires have left a wake of devastation in their paths, and we’ve been deeply moved by countless stories of grief, fear, and loss that have emerged since the crisis began.

Long after the fires have been extinguished, the Australian Red Cross will continue providing support by rolling out a tailored recovery program. The organisation’s aim is to provide everybody with the support they need to get back on their feet.

That’s why we’re stepping up, and will endeavour to raise as much as possible for the Australian Red Cross during the first six months of 2020.

At the beginning of each year our 100+ employees spanning three continents vote for a cause they would like to fundraise for. The company then matches all donations raised by the staff, doubling the charity purse before donating it to the cause.

“For the last two years we selected Crumlin Childrens’ Hospital as it’s a cause close to our hearts, and this year it feels right to select the Australian Red Cross,” says CurrencyFair’s Head of People, Emma Byrne.

“Our aim is not just to send funds to the Red Cross, but to send our support and stand in unison with Australian residents, citizens, our team members, customers, and their loved ones,” she adds.
